There's People Everywhere

The paradox of people is that we're all different; we all seem foreign to each other. And then, at the same time, we're all the same. It's a complicated world.

Verse 1

Chorus:
There's people everywhere;
Don't you know? don't you know?
There's people everywhere
Don't you know? don't you know?

There's people in... California,
They live in places like:
[ask for ideas, children echo each] Los Angeles, San Francisco, Yosemite, San Diego...
There's people in California...

(Chorus)

People like to... celebrate.
Celebrate things like:
[ask for ideas, children echo each] Birthdays, Independence Days, Christmas, Hanukkah...
People like to celebrate...

Chorus (celebrate):
People celebrate everywhere
Don't you know? don't you know?
People celebrate everywhere
Don't you know? don't you know?

(Get other ideas for verses, too! What else do people like to do? Eat? Play? Travel?)

NOTES
Geography: This song can be used as a means of summarizing a unit on a particular region of the world. If you studied South America for example, you might ask the children what people in South America speak? What do they eat? What do they celebrate? you can then easily incorporate these into the song.
