Noble Duke of York, The

Another well-liked action rhyme for kids.

Oh, the noble Duke of York,
He had ten thousand men,
He marched them up to the top of the hill
And he marched them down again.

Cause when you're up,
And when you're down, you're down,
But when you're only halfway up,
You're neither up nor down.

And he marched them to the left,
And he marched them to the right,
And he marched them over upside-down,
Oh, what a silly sight!
(or, "and he marched them out of sight")

This is also fun as a standing and marching activity. Just follow the actions implied!
